Urgent requests can only be processed between 8:30am-4:00pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Before submitting a request
How to submit a request (three options)
1. Complete a blank request form (login with your SA Health Library username and click Create Request from the left-hand panel). ** Before placing a request
2. Click on the green “Unavailable through SALUS ….request it!" button when searching for journal articles on the library catalogue to pre-populate a request form. Tip: You may need to click on the article title to go to a more detailed record to see the green ‘request' it button
3. Also look out for the "request it!" button when using some of the databases (e.g. all OVID databases and PubMed)

You must be a SA Health employee AND a current library member to use this service.
Is there any charge for the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Service?
There is no charge to the individual SA Health staff member or SA Health Department/Unit for the provision of articles, chapters or print material. While the SA Health Library Service does cover all costs, any request that may incur higher than normal charges will be referred back to the requester to confirm the requirement of the item before the higher cost is accepted.
Will I need a username and password to use the service?
You will need a username only. This will be your current SA Health Library username
What if I have more than one SA Health Library account, and therefore more than one username?
There is no need to use more than one username or swap between accounts when making requests. Simply choose your current or predominate library username to use for all your submissions
Can I submit a request from home?
Yes, requests can be submitted from any device or location with an internet connection
Will articles be emailed to me?
Most articles will be accessible from your document delivery account. Login to check your requests or access PDF documents
